Co-Facilitators

A session host can add co-facilitators (co-hosts) who can jointly manage an estimation session. This is useful when multiple people need to run different parts of the same session, or when the host wants a backup.

Co-facilitators have nearly full control over a session:

  • Select tickets for estimation
  • Start and cancel the timer
  • Lock estimates and reveal results
  • Finalize estimates
  • Add and remove tickets
  • Import tickets from Jira or GitLab
  • Broadcast ticket details to participants
  • Re-estimate or skip tickets

Co-facilitators cannot:

  • Delete the session
  • Transfer session ownership
  • Add or remove other co-facilitators
  • Change session configuration (estimation type, values, timer)

Only the session owner can add co-facilitators:

  1. In the session, click the Co-hosts button in the top bar (visible when you are the session owner)
  2. Search for a host by username
  3. Click Add next to their name

The target user must:

  • Have a registered host account
  • Have an active account (not deactivated)
  • Not already be a co-facilitator on this session

A co-facilitator can be removed in two ways:

  • By the session owner — from the co-hosts panel, click the × next to a co-facilitator
  • By the co-facilitator themselves — from the co-hosts panel, click Leave to remove yourself

The session owner cannot be removed as a co-facilitator.

On your Sessions dashboard, sessions where you are a co-facilitator are listed alongside your own sessions. Each session shows your role: Owner or Co-host. The available actions adjust based on your role.

When you are added as a co-facilitator, the session appears in your session list immediately. There is no separate notification — just check your dashboard.

  • Add a co-facilitator before going live so they are in place when estimation starts
  • Co-facilitators are great for Scrum Masters who want to run the timer while the product owner selects tickets
  • If the original host disconnects, co-facilitators can continue running the session
